The Worst of Human Nature by Becca A. (19, F, Tucson, AZ) "So, it was maybe my fourth of fifth date with this guy... let's call him Brian. Anyway, in high school, Brian was kind of a wild child... he liked to party, drink, do drugs, the whole kit and caboodle, whereas I was pretty tame in high school. I was always one of those good girls. However, high school kinda sucked for me because my mother was a drug addict, so I had to grow up really quickly. Needless to say, I know a few things about the real world. Anyway, so Brian and I are at dinner, and we get to talking about high school and some of the people we knew. He starts to talk about himself (he's quite self-centered) and how "he's seen the worst of human nature" and crap like that. Kind of a heavy topic for having not known this guy too well... anyways, I just said something along the lines of, "Yeah, I've seen some pretty crappy stuff too--" and he interrupts me, telling me that I have no idea what I'm talking about and that I'm just a sheltered child in comparison to him. That just pissed me off, so I told him shortly after that that I wanted to go home, and he got seriously offended. He was like, "What, just because I know more about life than you do you're going to be pissy?" So I took a cab home because he was being a douche. Majorly sucky date. "
