Wow, My Date Sucked! was created by Sam Greenspan and Paul Jury (Pandasmash.com, 11points.com, and Paulspond.com). Sam runs the website and moderates the stories. Paul adapts and produces the videos. You go on the terrible dates.
Are the dates real? All the date stories on Wow, My Date Sucked! were submitted by actual users, based on actual dates they've had. We suppose there's a possibility for someone to exaggerate things to get back at an ex, but that's for you to decide. Can I submit my bad date story? You most certainly can, in fact we'd love you for it. Just head to the date submission page. If we end up making your date into a video, we'll send you a check for $25. Does it have to be just dates? Well, dates are best, but if you had a boyfriend who wrote first-person doggy journals, and the way you found out wasn't technically a date and more of you sneaking around in his closet, that could work. As long as it's a love-related fail. How do you choose which dates get made into a videos? Every week we pick our favorite date from those submitted, adapt it into a script, then shoot it with actors we know. What constitutes our "favorite"? Well, that can depend on a few things: the number of views and comments on a date (so send your date around to your friends!), date rating, and how much fun Paul thinks it would be to shoot. How accurate are the videos? Oh, we take some creative liberties now and then, but all videos are based on the characters and events from real user-submitted stories. But they're probably not word for word, if that's what you're asking. Where I can I see more videos? All the sucky date videos are on this site, as well as on our YouTube page (please subscribe!), but Sam and Paul have also made oodles of other videos, which can be found at their comedy video site, Panda Smash. |
